Looking good (Part Four) Diet!

Most of us admit to feeling unhappy with our weight and sometimes this can have a drastic impact on our confidence levels. Confidence is, I would say, the key personality trait when it comes to dating. Everyone loves confident, self assured people. It doesn't matter how many people reassure us we look good, if we don't believe it, we won't feel confident and your date will be able to see that.

There is hope though, because according to a recent workshop given by the Roche Obesity Institute, most people don't actually need to diet to lose weight!

Many of us unconsciously forget what we eat and are unable to recall snacks and treats consumed in between meals. Then to add insult to injury, we tend to underestimate the calorific value of what we consume. For this reason nutritionists always recommend that you keep a food diary and jot down everything you eat for a week or two. This will help you to identify problem areas because trying to improve your diet can be fruitless if you don't know where you're going wrong.

It might surprise you to know that on average, only 10 types of food make up 70% of our daily calorie intake.

Cakes 11.46%
Bread and by-products 10.61%
Chips, crisps 8.51%
Meat 8.42%
Cheese 5.85%
Oil, margarine 5.17%
Butter, animal fat 4.87%
Cooked meats 4.53%
Meat-based foods 3.87%
Pasta, rice, flour 3.78%

So forget about strict, stringent diets and eating plans. Just cutting back on a few of these food groups could have a dramatic effect on your weight over time.
